Commandant’s Message

Pakistan Marine Academy (PMA) is the only institute in the country, who provides pre & post-Sea professional training to Seafarers. PMA works under the Federal Ministry of Maritime Affairs and is internationally acknowledged as one of the elite Maritime Institute for providing quality education-cum-training in diversified Maritime fields. PMA every year, prepares around 150 professionally competent young Seafarers in the fields of ‘Nautical Sciences’ and ‘Maritime Engineering’, for the local and international maritime industry.

Maritime Industry serves as the backbone of a country's economy, wherein, Seafarers play a pivotal role towards national development. At PMA, it is ensured that training is imparted as per requirements of the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification, and Watch-keeping for Seafarers, 1978(STCW) (with latest amendments). Seasoned professionals and state-of-the-art education-cum-training infrastructure are hallmarks of PMA.

Serving at sea is a tough job as it requires mental steadiness, physical fitness, extra courage, strong determination, and focused attention; at PMA, it is ensured that in addition to routine training, numerous mental and physical activities are conducted for developing sea legs of the under-trainees.
